Back and Forth...
Gone are the times when fear was the dark
And joy was a snack.
Away with the winds are the grieves derived from siblings,
And what hurts the most was a sore thumb.
For now fear is the future
And love becomes the pain.
The fear of not being loved
The pain of a broken heart.
Love has its limits
For a limitless love is like an open wound;
Awaiting the dangers of viruses and diseases,
Ready to hurt much more than the initial cut.
Suddenly the pleasures of stealing pennies
Has been converted to the pleasure of sexual acts
And another spanking new pair of trainers shoes
Transforms into the numbers of lady’s underpants stashed in your forbidden draw.
That pretty girl on the playground you gave occasional pinches and punches
Is now the inspiration of you frequent midnight fantasies
And not sharing a biscuit or sweet out of anger with him
has transpired to smashing his windscreen and punching his tires.
Gone are the times when fear was the dark and joy was a snack
For the simplicities of childhood desires has now been swapped for lust and misplaced priorities.
We all just want to be love…and that’s a fact!!!
